This semla bun recipe was created for Daun’s (a vegan Scandinavian eatery in London) for Shrove Tuesday.
Semla buns are traditionally eaten on this day in Sweden, as a final celebration day before Lent. They are light sweet cardamom yeast buns, filled with almond paste and whipped cream.
